About Bev

Bev Shipley has worked and lived in the Lambton- Kent-Middlesex riding his entire life, just as generations of his family have done since 1819. After graduating from Agriculture Technology, Bev took over the family farm, which he expanded to include cash crops and purebred dairy cattle. His commitment to public service is extensive, which included 20 years of dedication to municipal government. Bev served on Middlesex County Council for 16 years, was Warden in 1995, and served the last 7 years as Mayor of Middlesex Centre.

Over the years, Bev Shipley has demonstrated a strong commitment to his family, community and public service, which all contribute to his excellent leadership skills and his understanding of the needs of constituents.

His involvement within the community has touched many individuals throughout the riding. He was a Director and a volunteer of the Western Fair Association, London, and a Director of the Middlesex County Agriculture Hall of Fame. Bev was past Chair and Vice-Chair of the Lake Huron Primary Water System. Bev is an active member of Community Bible Church, Middlesex Centre, and is a volunteer in numerous community organizations. Bev understands agriculture and believes our farmers are as efficient as any in the world. However, they must be supported so that they can compete against the trade tariffs and the treasuries of our competing trading partners.

It is in the Township of Middlesex Centre that Bev and his wife of 37 years, Barb, raised three now grown children. Bev is the proud grandfather of six grandchildren.
