House of Commons Pages Programs – 2018–2019 Recruitment Campaign

The House of Commons is accepting applications for the 2018-2019 House of Commons Pages Programs. The program is open to Canadian students entering their first year of full-time studies at a university in the National Capital Region.

The application period is open from October 1, 2017 to December 4, 2017.

Pages work in the House of Commons Chamber and provide various services to Members of Parliament, the Speaker and Chair Occupants, and Table Officers. For example, Pages collect and distribute official documents, deliver messages to Members, serve as a link between Members and their Hill offices, answer telephone calls, and make photocopies. Professional, impartial, and efficient service is a hallmark of the House of Commons Page Program.

Pages begin training in late August. During this training, they learn about their new work environment, their responsibilities and duties, and what they need to know in order to provide the high level of service required in the House of Commons. Pages are required to work a minimum of 15 hours per week over a 12-month period. A uniform is provided at the beginning of the employment period and must be returned at the end of the employment period.
