Increased Child Care Expense Deduction

October 31, 2014

Our Government understands that raising a family can be expensive and that the costs can really add up. That is why we remain committed to helping make life more affordable for hard-working families.

In particular, our Government understands how costly child care can be. That is why we are increasing the amount that can be claimed through Child Care Expense Deduction (CCED) by $1,000. This increase to the CCED will help make child care more affordable for more than 200,000 Canadian families.

Expanding the CCED is just one of the ways our Government is helping make life more affordable for Canadians. Our low-tax plan for families includes creating and expanding both the landmark Universal Child Care Benefit and the Children’s Fitness Tax Credit, introducing the Tax-Free Savings Account, and cutting the GST twice.

Canadians can count on our Government to deliver results that help make life more affordable.
