Wallaceburg
– Bev Shipley, Member of Parliament for Lambton-Kent-Middlesex on behalf of the Honourable Gary Goodyear, Minister of State (FedDev Ontario), today announced a contribution of more than $62,000 for two local projects, funded through the National Research Council Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program.
“Our government is investing in science and technology to create good jobs, strengthen the economy and improve Canadians’ quality of life,” said Shipley. “This government is supporting Canadian firms that successfully develop innovative technologies. Canada’s Economic Action Plan is supporting scientific research and commercialization, while creating good jobs and economic growth.”
Funding comes from a $90 million investment over two years from FedDev Ontario in the Industrial Research Assistance Program to support job creation for R&D-intensive small- and medium-sized businesses across southern Ontario.
Shipley noted that the two Wallaceburg companies, McDougall Tool and ThruFlow Inc will receive $28,000 and $34,600 respectively and will create a total of nine new jobs with the funding.
