Shipley announces 106 summer jobs for LKM students

Ottawa – Bev Shipley, MP for Lambton-Kent-Middlesex announced the Government of Canada will provide more than $234,000 to 67 private, public and non- profit organizations creating 106 summer jobs for students in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex.

Canada Summer Jobs is an initiative of the Summer Work Experience program. It provides funding for not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers, and small businesses with 50 or fewer employees to create high-quality summer job opportunities for students between the ages of 15 and 30.

Canada Summer Jobs is about:

  • providing work experiences for students;
  • supporting organizations, including those that provide important community services; and
  • recognizing that local circumstances, community needs and priorities vary widely.
“I am pleased to announce this funding which will provide high-quality jobs and work experiences for students throughout my riding in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex,” said Shipley.
