MP Bev Shipley Celebrates Local Benefits of the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund in Ontario

Strathroy, Ontario – Across the country, community centres, cultural centres, ice rinks, swimming pools, and other community projects will soon be improved thanks to support from the Government of Canada’s Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF).

As part of the Government’s Economic Action Plan 2012, Bev Shipley, Member of Parliament for Lambton-Kent-Middlesex, has announced over $270,000 in federal funding for three local projects under the Fund.

“I am proud to see my community benefit from the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund,” said Shipley. “This investment will help create jobs and growth and will support the prosperity of Lambton-Kent-Middlesex for years to come.”

The Government of Canada is providing funding for the following local projects:

Through the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund, the Government of Canada has committed to supporting communities and creating jobs through repairs and improvements to existing community facilities over the next two years. Please see the backgrounder for more information on CIIF.
