September 25, 2009

Parkhill, Ontario – M.P. Bev Shipley, Conservative Member of Parliament for Lambton-Kent-Middlesex, today announced the 150th Anniversary, celebrating the heritage of North Middlesex.

"This is just another example of how our government continues to partner with and support communities that celebrate our rich cultural history across the country. I am very pleased to make this announcement of $26,787.00 to the 150th Anniversary committee for their year of celebration in North Middlesex” said Mr. Shipley.

The 150th Anniversary Committee has received funding of $26,787.00 to help present it’s year long celebration with activities, which will take place from January 1st to Dec 31st 2010.

The Government of Canada created the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program in September 2007. This program provides Canadians with more opportunities to take part in local activities that present arts and culture and celebrate local history and heritage. This program will benefit many community events and celebrations throughout Canada this year.
