December 07, 2011

Bothwell, Ontario —A local post-secondary graduate will get the opportunity to develop job skills through the Government of Canada’s support for a youth employment project. Bev Shipley, Member of Parliament for Lambton–Kent–Middlesex, made the announcement today on behalf of the Honourable Diane Finley, Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development.

“Our government’s top priority is jobs and the economy,” said MP Shipley. “In today’s environment, it is more important than ever that youth develop the skills they need to participate and succeed in the job market. Our government is proud to support projects that offer post-secondary graduates the opportunity to gain the skills and experience that will help them reach their full potential.”

With assistance from the federal Career Focus program, Autism Canada Foundation will provide a recent post-secondary graduate with work experience as a public relations assistant manager at the organization’s head office. The participant will develop and implement public relations strategies and help respond to enquiries from the media.

Autism Canada Foundation will receive over $19,000 in Career Focus funding for its youth employment project.
