Message from our Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer on National Seniors Day:
“It’s National Seniors Day – an occasion to honour Canada’s seniors, the men and women who contributed so much and made so many sacrifices to build up our great country.
Created by our previous Conservative government and first celebrated in 2011, National Seniors Day coincides with international celebrations of senior citizens like the United Nations Day of Older Persons.
We appreciate all the ways senior citizens enrich our lives, from caring for grandchildren to volunteering in the community and sharing the wisdom and experience of a life well-lived with younger generations. I encourage everyone to thank a senior who has made a positive difference in their life.
As we celebrate everything Canada’s seniors have done for our country over their lives, improving their lives and well-being must remain a priority.
On behalf of Canada’s Conservatives and the Official Opposition, I wish everyone a healthy and happy National Seniors Day.”
